Homophone worksheets to help your students improve their writing in English. Homophones are words that sound the same but have different meaning and are spelt differently. They’re not to be confused with homonyms that are words that sound the same, are spelt the same, but have different meanings. Oh English grammar, why do you do this to us? Understanding the difference between words that sound the same is important for students. If they can’t differentiate between words, their writing is impacted and can become mistake heavy. Homophones such such as there/their and where/we’re are common homophones that students have trouble with.
