Apostrophe Worksheets

Free apostrophe worksheets to help your students improve their punctuation skills in English. It is important for students to have a firm grasp of contractions and possessive apostrophes. Using them inaccurately in story writing can have a very negative impact, so students must use them with precision. Ensure you teach children that contractions are two words join together to make a single word, and possessive apostrophes are used to show ownership. Students often get confused when there are plurals because they also contain an ‘s’. Get them to identify situations where the ‘s’ is used for plurals and when it’s used for contractions and possessive apostrophes. Also, work on apostrophes daily during English warm ups and get children applying their understanding as often as possible. Use these free worksheets to give your students the repetition they need.
